Philadelphia-victor of FELMAUSA 2013 convention bid

The Federation of Liberian Mandingo Associations in the USA, FELMAUSA has selected Philadelphia as the venue for its upcoming national convention scheduled for July 2013.

According to a dispatch from the executive leadership of the single largest Mandingo organization in the world, FELMAUSA, the 2013 convention was awarded to the Liberia Mandingo Association of Pennsylvania, LIMAP following a thorough and extensive research by the Social Committee of the federation.

The letter addressed to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hon. Famod Konneh, disclosed that two chapters proclaimed interest in hosting the 2013 national convention, but one emerged victorious based on set conditions.

Alhassan Donzo and approved by the President of the federation, Hon. Mohammed S. Bility, stressed that LIMAP liaised with the social affairs committee of FELMAUSA by submitting a proposed plan in support of their interest to host the convention.

In the letter, president Bility and the executive team have congratulated the people of Philadelphia, the chairman and members of the Social Committee, and those who abetted during the selection process.

It says further that President Mohammed S. Bility of FELMAUSA is looking forward to working with the Liberia Mandingo Association of Pennsylvania, LIMAP, ensuring that the next convention demonstrates the best “of us as a community.” (Al Donzo)

A letter to the chapter state of Minnesota yesterday denied The Minnesota Mandingo Association, MMA, the opportunity to host the 2013 FELMAUSA national convention.

The letter which was addressed to Mohamed Dorley, chapter leader of the State of Minnesota, indicated that Minnesota could not host the convention this year. It disclosed that another chapter made stronger case versus that of Minnesota.

Mr. Al Donzo said in his letter that, “MMA’s refusal to provide a proposal upon request by the Hon. Chairman of FELMAUSA Social Committee was factors in our decision.” (Al Donzo)
