ROBERTSPORT, April 20,(LINA) – The Project Officer of Sustainable Livelihood Promoter Program(SLPP), Mr. Joseph Benoit, says it is disappointing that Liberians who should promote and protect the interest of Ebola survivors are the ones working against their interests.
Benoit made the statement at his Vonzua office, Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County in an interview recently with the Liberia News Agency.
He called on Liberians to desist from discriminating against and stigmatizing Ebola survivors because this could lead them to shy away from attending public functions and high profile occasions as well as churches and mosques.
He also appealed to the government and the international community to provide quality and sound education to the orphans who lost their parents as the results of the Ebola crisis.
He said if the children are not educated now, they could be exposed to being criminals and societal problems.
